Have You Ever Seen GOD Cry Have you ever seen GOD cry Have you ever wondered why When church is for winners There’s no room for sinners This world is a cold dark place So is church when there’s no grace Where are the tears for the lost Playing it safe counting the cost Closing our hearts and our door The cries of the wounded ignore Why are the hungry starving We feast another turkey carving Into an image of what GOD desires Carbon copy Christianity inspires? Protecting our witness not our friends Unmerciful to the little ones GOD sends Easy to scorn when you’re not involved Perhaps this is why church doors revolve Have you ever seen GOD cry Have you ever wondered why When church becomes GOD’s hands The hurting finds one who understands Lonely outcasts are welcomed in Love is a refuge greater than sin Different is just different not wrong In each of us is our own GOD song Preaching the gospel by how we live With tears and time to others we give I become less as GOD becomes more Another life whole as GOD restores No reputation no name no glory Listening as little ones tell their story A voice not a sales pitch for the victim of lies Intercessors fight darkness following the cries When you are involved you can’t ignore In this church the lost find an open door Have you ever seen GOD cry And been the reason why …..peace…..
